| Slipcover America, Inc. has 3 main objectives: 1) To educate the public about ways to increase the life span of their furniture. Don’t throw it away but recycle, and/or reuse via slipcovering, refurbishing and reupholstering. This objective is being meet, through workshops (teaching others how to make their own slipcovers), seminars (workshops how to rework their furniture) and related articles at www.slipcoveramerica.com 2) To maintain, and facilitate the Slipcover Network, an Internet website at www.slipcovernetwork.com which offers:
3)Design and fabricate slipcovers from natural organic fabric for her customers “ONSITE” in their homes throughout the country with a unique time saving techniques. Plus offers solutions to those customers suffering with allergies.
Karen works with designers, decorators and retail customers throughout the United States, specializing in ON-Site fabrication ( in customer’s homes) Karen continues to instruct both in the US and Canada doing Seminars/Demonstrations of Slipcovering at fabric stores, for sewing guilds, at professional workrooms, and for ASID groups. 4 years she was on staff at the Custom Home Furnishings Industry in North Carolina. In January of 2007 she partnered with Claudia Buchian of Sew What! Custom Home Decor & Slipcovers "dedicated to custom home sewing education". Photos and articles regarding slipcovers have been published in written magazine as well as in online publications Karen is a single parent of two grown sons, one a Music graduate from Florida State University, and the other a Senior graduate from Lewis & Clark College Oregon a Biology Major.
