Karen Erickson, Founder of
Slipcover America

Karen Erickson has been in the Home Decor business for 17 years.  In 1986 she started Fine Finishing by Karen as a part-time homebased business, fabricating draperies, slipcovers and other accessories.  Previous to that, she taught needlework crafts, and managed sales territories for two national companies, Artcraft Concepts and Athena Crafts in Southern California.  In 1998, her company became a corporation with a name change to Slipcover America, Inc.

Karen works with designers, decorators and retail customers throughout the United States, specializing in ON-Site fabrication ( in the customer's home).  You may also find her doing half or full day Seminars / Demonstrations of Slipcovering at fabric stores, for sewing guilds, at professional workrooms, for designer groups or writing slipcover articles for publications.

Karen is a single parent of two sons, one attending Florida State University as a Senior, and the other a Freshman at Lewis & Clark in Portland, Oregon. 

Education: Studies were in Photo/Journalism: Puget Sound Community College, Washington Chaffey College, Pierce College, California.
